I had never been a fan of Entwine, but obviously they were a huge part of Finnish love/gothic metal scene. When I knew this tour is the final one, I hadn’t any doubts – I have to be there. Occasionally I attended Entwine final gig in Helsinki, at legendary On The Rocks. And that show was a blast. And since that gig I’m a fan, honestly. Yeah, too late. My short review and some pics from that gig are here:
What to say about the final-final show of Entwine in Lahti, at Finlandia-klubi in Sibelius-talo?.. Well. The event started from a very nice meet & greet session. All the guys from the band hanged out at the bar area with the fans for at least half an hour. And I had a chance to say to Jaani, Joni, and Tom “hi” from Juska Salminen (Rock Academy Kouvola, ex- HIM and To/Die/For) whom I saw earlier that day.

And then there was the concert. The concert was emotional.
Chameleon Halo, Strife, New Dawn, The Pit, every time killing me Frozen by the Sun…
Mika Tauriainen talked a lot that night, but unfortunately only in Finnish.
It seemed like all the guys on stage were in pretty good mood, but a few times we could clearly see tears in Mika’s eyes.
For a couple of songs Riitta Heikkonen, the original keyboard player, and Panu Willman, the original singer, both appeared on the stage. Riitta was beautiful as always. Panu sang so-so as always.
Honestly I couldn’t wait for Mika returning back on stage… The clock for Entwine final gig was ticking, and I felt it painfully with every next second…

And then Mika returned for Break Me and Surrender. And then he talked a lot. And then it was Plastic World, obviously spoiled by Mika’s very touching emotions. And then Mika Tauriainen personally hugged every each member of Entwine on the stage: Tom Mikkola and Jaani Kähkönen, the guitar players, Joni Miettinen, the bass guitar player, and finally Aksu Hanttu, the drummer.
The final ever live song of Entwine was Curtained Life. Those heartbreaking emotions I will never forget.
