Концерт Swallow the Sun был безусловно лучшим во второй день фестиваля John Smith.
Группа всегда славилась красивой и такой финской лирикой, запоминайющейся музыкой и глубоком звуком, но сейчас приобрела еще более интересное звучание с приходом Яани Пеуху (Jaani Peuhu), который выступил продюсером последнего и совершенно гениального альбома When a Shadow Is Forced into the Light, а теперь гастролирует в роли клавишника и бэк-вокалиста.
Песни с последней пластинки и вошли в основу сет-листа. When a Shadow is Forced into the Light, Upon the Water, Firelights, Stone Wings прозвучали просто отлично. Были и более старые песни – например, Lost & Catatonic. Атмосферный антураж на сцене, стильные костюмы, отличный звук – всё было в этот вечер идеально.
The concert of Swallow the Sun was the best on the second day of John Smith Rock Festival.
The band has always been known for beautiful and so Finnish lyrics, memorable melodies, and deep doom sound. The music became more fresh after Jaani Peuhu joined the band as a producer of absolutely genius and amazing album When a Shadow is Forced into the Light, and it’s great he travels with Swallow the Sun as a back-vocalist and a keyboard player now.
New songs Shadow is Forced into the Light, Upon the Water, Firelights, and Stone Wings sounded very good live. Older songs like Lost & Catatonic were also played. Stylish costumes, atmospheric lights on the stage, and deep good sound – everything was perfect that night at John Smith.
